Blogging has been around since the beginning of the internet. Naturally blogging has grown a community with the growth of the internet. Community is very important in blogging because it is how blogs gain a following and are able to share their knowledge with others. It also opens a window for people to discuss and share what they might think about a certain topic.
Reasons that blogs gained so much attention is the different writing styles and topics. Certain writing styles attract more people to a blog and aid in creating a larger community. One really popular type of blogging style is journalism. People like journalism because it provides information in a way that is easy to digest for the reader. Because of this, people can share their thoughts and opinions on the topics in a blog.
Blogs that have journalism styles usually tend to depend on more mainstream=m media sources, which does tend to decrease a community. But at the same time, blogs that have a journalism style do allow readers to see a piece of information from another persons’ point of view. It also allows the writer to be independent and write whatever they feel like. This is good because it allows the writer to develop a better way to share their information more openly.
Since I started blogging, I’ve started making the connection between blogging and the community. Its interesting to see how much engagement blogging gets and watching the community grow. Its also been interesting to see the different styles of blogging and the types of conversations they create. Its also been nice to see other peoples’ views when I read their blogs, and how much different two people can take one piece of information.
