This week, I picked this blog, “Supporting Community Organizing to Build a More Inclusive Society”, by Connie Heller because it had a topic that I find very interesting. I am a community organizer myself, so any story that has to do with benefitting a community is something that I enjoy seeing or hearing about. In addition to this, it also discusses social justice, which is something I’m very passionate about. A line that really stuck out to me in this blog was, “Our belief in using community organizing to build power motivates each of us individually.” I found this incredibly relatable because I try to bring these principles into my own work. I strive my best to inspire the community I work in to better their lives. I try to introduce motivation in a nearly hopeless place. I want the youth to realize that the actions they make have an impact and that they are in control of their own future. I found this blog, in particular, to be very fascinating and relatable due to my own position as a community organizer.
